Rod Mitchell, Publicist / Producer



Rod Mitchell​​​​​​​ is accomplished in every aspect of film and media production. His early focused on being a voice talent, but in 1984 he launched Adventures In Media. Through print, television, and radio, this agency represented clients to the public. In 1990, Mitchell relocated to Houston. He first worked for Gallery Furniture, where he served as a publicist for the store’s colorful owner, Jim “Mattress Mack” McIngvale. Mitchell also took full advantage that McIngvalewas very well connected to the Houston media. In 1992, he left Gallery Furniture Mack and restructured his company as a corporation, Adventures In Media, Inc.Mitchell’s reputation grew throughout the 1990s. He and his wife, Rena, searched the country for content experts and authors who could add insight to the fast-breaking news stories of the day. By 1994, he worked with CNN as a freelance story and guest booking agent. In 1996, Fox drew upon his vast contacts by retained his services for their newly launched news network.

He went on to serve in this capacity every major cable and broadcast network in the United States. Mitchell’s list of content experts was featured on programs like: Bill O’Reilly, LarryKing Live, and more than two dozen syndicated radio shows. With his connections, he booked his author clients on the network and syndicated shows like Oprah Winfrey, Phil Donahue, Sally Jessie Rafael, Geraldo Rivera, Dr. Phil McGraw, and many others. He also built an ongoing rapport with all of the network morning shows (NBC TodayShow, ABC GMA, CBS This Morning, Fox and Friends, as well as popular morning, shows that aired in more than 30 major markets that drew upon the talent that he represented. In 1994, Mitchell and his wife put their publicity business on hold and began developing the thecutting-edgereality program, American Bounty Hunter. His work caught the attention of CAA (Creative Artists Agency) which was instrumental in getting the property licensed to the Paramount Television Network. The one-hour show aired in March of 1996. Mitchell went on to develop and produce eight additional reality programs earning industry recognition and public support. In the past decade, he has consulted with numerous producers and filmmakers in the development of their own productions. He has also served as a Unit Publicist on more than a dozen major motion pictures shot in Texas. In 2017, he sold his media-based direct marketing company, Talk Guests Galore, and now spends his time helping other producers develop and produce their projects. He also devotes extensive time to the Houston film and television industry by arranging and hosting more than a dozen different networking mixers to promote the Houston entertainment industry.
