The Story

Ray Medina, Jr. is a fighter caught in a vice.  His attempt to lead a normal life is overshadowed by his ties to Los Diablos.  The gang that he once called family is attempting to drag him back into their world of guns, drugs, and crime.

Years ago, Ray left the Diablos and moved to Hong Kong to avoid prosecution in the United States.  With the help of his fiancée Regina, he has regained his self-respect and made a name for himself in the MMA world.  Tonight, he fights for the Far East Championship title and has plans to return to the U.S. for his first North American match.  Unbeknownst to Ray, his first U.S. fight has been arranged by the Diablos who now have an affiliation with a Mexican cartel.

Pablo has come to Hong Kong to bring Ray back to the gang and to collect payment for the cartel’s human trafficking operation.  If he can get Ray to mule the money that he collects, they will document the crime and have Ray on the hook for their continuing criminal activities.  Done with a life of crime, Ray refuses.

Ray and Regina return to the United States.  The Diablos immediately attempt to leverage Ray’s decision by kidnapping Regina and laying the blame on their rival gang, the South Side Cobras.  They assume Ray will seek their help finding Regina and accept the protection that they offer. Miguel, Ray’s baby brother who remains a member of the Diablos, tries to convince Ray to cooperate.

Ray does not yield.  Instead his street warrior instincts kick in, and he takes the fight to the Diablos.  In retaliation for Ray’s refusal, the Diablos kill Miguel and sentence Ray and his estranged father to death.

With the gang closing in, Ray’s courage and martial art training allow him to escape. Meanwhile, the order is given to sell Regina to the human traffic operation the Diablos support.  Ray Sr. is tipped off to the upcoming sale.

Distrustful of the authorities, Ray and Ray Sr. mend their broken relationship and resolve to save Regina.  To save her Ray enlists the help of the South Side Cobras’ to provide a diversion for their attack.  Once they enter the Diablo stronghold, the noise and confusion that they create provides a distraction that allows Regina to escape her captors and join the fight.

In another part of the brothel, Ray Sr. finds Pablo and attacks.  While the old lion lands a few good punches, he is no match for Pablo’s speed and youth.  Pablo is about to deliver a death blow when Ray finds them.  He draws his gun and fires, but the weapon jams.  Pablo is enraged by Ray’s attempt on his life and kicks the gun from his hand.  This sets into motion a bareknuckle fight in which each draw blood.  The women who were held captive watch the fight.  As the women move closer, Ray gains the upper hand and has Pablo on the ground. He positions himself to break Pablo’s neck.  With the police closing in, Ray Sr. stops him, and they leave Pablo to the women that he abused.

With Regina and his father by his side, Ray returns to the ring.  In the audience unseen by Ray is Jefe, the head of the Mexican Cartel.  As the credits roll, he calls for a hit on Angel for not delivering Ray’s loyalty.  After the fight Jefe continues to watch Ray’s every move, after all “Once a Diablo always a Diablo”.
